I did it the same way. It'a a lot less messy then draining by screw underneth
the engine, but it's pain in the neck if you use a hose too small in diameter.
I used a thicker, transparent type one and it worked well. Didn't overfill too
much when I changed the oil but still took pretty long to get out the overfilled
amount. But I think it's the best method anyway.
